Beykoz Institute of Life Sciences and Biotechnology at Bezmialem Vakıf University (BILSAB) was officially instituted in 2014. The Institute was launched to engage in education, research and medical service activities in accordance with the general mission of Bezmialem Vakıf University and as a continuum to the 200-year tradition of the Gureba-i Muslimin Hospital at our age.

The aim is to establish an institute that is recognized, known and highly regarded first in the region, then in the country and then in the world in the fields of activities carried out at the Institute. The institute has state of the art laboratories to foster and facilitate research under the guidance of top researchers from the fields of microbiology, molecular biology, bioinformatics and medical sciences. Institute offers several MSc and PhD programs in designated fields. It also boasts of Postdoctoral training programs for local and international researchers.
